How to Create an External Link / URL Product 🔗

What is an External Link/ URL Product?

It's as straightforward as it sounds! With the External Link/URL Product you can add ANY external link or URL you'd like to your Stan Store! 

Common links are:

  • Affiliate or Referral Links
  • Amazon Storefronts
  • Custom Websites
  • Stan Funnel URLs

How to set up an External Link / URL Product

Add the External Link / URL Product to your store.

  1. Go to your My Store Tab in your Stan Dashboard.
  2. Click on the + Add Product button at the bottom of the page.

Customize your External Link / URL Product

  1. Start by making sure you're on the Thumbnail tab.

  1. Now you can pick the style of the product on your storefront. You can choose between Button and Callout.

The style of Button

The style of the Button is smaller and only includes an Image and the text of the button. The image should have the size 400x400px to look the best once uploaded. There's only one section where you can add text and this is for the button.

The style of Callout

The Style of Callout is bigger and includes an image and three sections for text. The image should have the size 400x400px to look the best once uploaded. As for the text, firstly, there's the title that will be shown in bold and on the top of the callout. You can use a maximum of 50 characters for the title. Below the title is the subtitle that allows for up to 100 characters. The subtitle will be shown below the title. At the bottom is the button and you're allowed to use up to 30 characters for the text of the button.

Add your link!

  1. On the top of the page, go to the URL page.

  1. Paste your link in the section called Enter URL. Don't forget that the link needs to include http://at the beginning of the link.

  1. Hit Save As Draft or Publish. By saving it as a draft, the product will remain in your Stan dashboard but it will not be visible on your storefront. By hitting Publish, the product will save and also be visible on your storefront.


It won't let me save the product

If you're trying to save the product but you get a popup message saying "Wait Up! Please provide all required information", there are one or more fields in the product that haven't been edited or are missing information. Go back to the product and go through all fields. If you find a field in all red, like the example below, this field is missing information and is therefore not letting you save. Add the relevant information and try saving again.
