Can I use my EIN instead of my SSN when setting up Stripe?

Great question - in short, the answer is yes! However, you must setup your Stripe Custom account as a Company as opposed to an Individual.

If you have a Stripe Express account with Stan, you should be able to update this from your Settings > Payments > Manage Account.

If you're not able to access this from Settings > Payments > Manage Account, you likely have a Stripe Custom account. No worries though! You can reach out to our team at friends@stanwith.me, let us know you're looking to update your business information, and provide the following details:

• Business Type Structure (Sole Proprietorship, Single-member LLC, Multi-member LLC, Private partnership, Private corporation, Other)
• Legal Business Name
• Your Employee Identification Number (EIN)
• A copy of your SS4 to verify your EIN
