How to test products in your store
Before sharing your Stan Store with your audience, we recommend testing your products as if you were your own customer to make sure everything looks great and runs smoothly! ✨
Testing your store
You can easily test out your customer experience by setting the price of a product to $0, publishing it, and heading to your live Stan Store. Then, go through the checkout flow as if you were a paying customer. You can "purchase" or download the product for yourself, see how the checkout process works, and ensure you receive a confirmation email in your inbox! 🤟
🚨 Heads up!
If you make a test purchase for a paid product and attempt to refund yourself, you'll be charged Stripe's refund transaction fees! Learn more about Stripe's transaction fees here.
To test your products as if you were a customer, follow these simple steps:
- Head to your Stan Store account and select the product you'd like to edit.
- Click on the Checkout Page and scroll down to the Price section.
- Set the price to $0 and hit Publish at the very bottom of the page.
- Next, head over to your live Stan Store URL (https://stan.store/yourusername) and click on the product you'd like to test. Fill out the form as if you were a customer and click submit!
- Once you've submitted the form, you should be redirected to a confirmation page with a link to your Digital Product or next steps. Additionally, you should receive a confirmation email with the product attached! 💌
Didn't receive a confirmation email?
If you tried purchasing your product but didn't receive a confirmation email, try the following steps:
- If it's a Digital Product or Freebie (Collect emails/ Applications product), double-check that you've uploaded a Product File to the product. Here's how:
- Within your Stan Store account, head to the product and select the Checkout Page tab > scroll down to the Upload your Digital Product section, and select Upload to upload a file or URL.
- Next, check your spam or promotions folder for an email from orders@stan.store.
- If all else fails, try going through the checkout process again using a different email address.
