Stan, Stripe & Paypal Transaction Fees
📣 Please note!
Stan does not charge a transaction fee on top of our subscription fee, however, our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal) do charge transaction fees. Please read below for more details!
We promise to never take a cut of your hard earned income, which means that Stan takes 0% of each transaction made on the platform. We only charge a subscription fee (monthly vs annually).
With that being said, in order to start earning money on Stan you'll be required to integrate with one of our payment processors, either Stripe or PayPal. Both payment processors charge their own transaction fees. Unfortunately, since Stan does not process any of your transactions directly, we do not have the ability to change, alter, or update the transaction fees that are charged by our payment processors. Transaction fees will vary based on the currency, location and type of payment that is processed.
Stripe's Transaction Fees
Stripe charges:
- 2.9% + $.30 per transaction
- 6.0% + $.30 per transaction if processed through Afterpay
- 5.99% + $.30 per transaction if processed through Klarna
- High value orders: Afterpay and Klarna both have a 6 or 12 month installment schedule and the interest rate is decided based on a soft credit check.
- .25% + $.25 per payout (min. $1)
Stripe's transaction fees may vary based on your location and the location of the purchaser. Additional fees may occur including the following:
- + 1.5% for international cards
- + 1% if currency conversion is required
- + 0.5% if the payment is recurring (e.g. memberships)

Stripe Fees & Refunds
When you refund a customer, you are refunding them for the full amount they paid, this includes the Stripe fees that were initially excluded from your net revenue. Here's an example of what this looks like for you:
- Let's say you sell a product for $50 and the Stripe fees were $2. Your net revenue would be $48.
- If you decide to refund your customer, the full $50 will come out of your account balance. This means you would be refunding them the original $48 you earned, plus the $2 in Stripe fees!

PayPal's Transaction Fees
PayPal charges:
- 3.49% + fixed fees based on the currency received
