How to Connect Stan with Stripe

To start collecting payments from customers, you'll need to set up a payment processor. Stan supports two payment processors, Stripe and PayPal. This article will walk you through setting up Stripe πŸ’Έ

πŸ“£ Heads up!

In order to use Stripe with Stan, you will be prompted to create a new Custom Stripe account that is managed by Stan. You will not be able to connect an existing Stripe account.


Steps to Connect Stripe

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  2. Click on the Payments tab.
  3. Click the button next to the Stripe logo (πŸ’‘it might say Register, Connect, or Connect Your Bank Account)

  1. In the pop-up window, choose your Home Country and click Create My Stan Stripe Account.

πŸ› οΈ Troubleshooting

  • If you don't see your country, check out this article: Countries Available for Stripe Custom Accounts.
  • If you don't see the pop-up, make sure your browser has pop-ups enabled.
  • If the button Register Stripe is grayed out, try publishing a free product, refreshing, and trying again.

  1. Next, enter the phone number and email address associated with your Stan account.

  1. Verify your account via the SMS code sent to your phone.

πŸ“£ Heads up!

If the country you selected is different than the country of origin for your phone number, you will not receive the text message. For example, if you select the United States, but you have a European phone number, you will not receive the SMS message.

  1. Next, provide your personal details:
    1. Name
    2. Email address
    3. Phone number
    4. Home address
    5. Birthday
    6. Last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)

  1. Select your industry.

  1. Enter your bank account information for payouts.

Stripe Account Verification

After you submit your information in the Stripe pop-up, Stripe will immediately begin verifying your account using the personal and banking information you provide. If Stripe has everything they need, you'll see this message: "You can accept payments and receive payouts." This means you are all set! πŸ™Œ



Timeline

The Stripe Verification process can take a few business days, especially if additional documentation is required. If you see the message "Your Stripe account requires an update!" on your Home Tab, Stripe needs a little bit more information from you to verify your account.

  1. Click the button Update Now
  2. Submit your additional information in the Stripe Pop-up (πŸ’‘ make sure you have pop-ups enabled on your browser!)
