How to Create Categories in Community

Want to organize your Community for your members to have different conversations? Now you can! This article will show you how to create and manage categories in your Community! 🥳


How to Create Categories

  1. Open your Community homepage.
  2. Click + Add Category below your Community Space (top-left).
  3. Enter the name of your category.
  4. Click Save.

Once created, you’ll see your new category at the top-left below Community Space, where you can easily navigate to it.



Making Posts in Your Categories

When you make a post in your category, you must choose the correct category from the category dropdown before you post. All posts will be visible in both the main feed and the category!

🚨 Please Note!

Your Community members will also need to select the appropriate category before they post in a category!


Editing and Deleting Categories

Here's how you can manage your existing categories:

  1. Click the three dots next to your Community Space.
  2. Select Edit Categories.
  3. Find the category you want to manage and click the three dots next to it.
  4. Scroll down and select Delete

📣 Heads Up!

Deleting a category will not delete all posts in that category. Instead, posts from a deleted category will appear solely in the main feed under All!
