Stan AutoDM (Currently in BETA ✨)
Stan AutoDM (BETA — formerly IG Auto-Reply) takes your Instagram sales game to the next level by automating replies! Here’s how it works:
📲 Pick a keyword, or multiple keywords
🔗 Post on Instagram asking your audience to DM or comment with that word
💬 Stan handles the rest, instantly sending your custom message to anyone who uses it
It's that simple! 🚀
📣 Heads up that this feature is currently in BETA Testing 🧪, but will be released to all Creators as soon as its ready! If you'd like to share your feedback, please email alyssa@stanwith.me.
Setting Up Your First Stan AutoDM
Head over to your Stan account and click Stan AutoDM from the left sidebar.
Alternatively, you can access the feature by clicking on +More and then selecting Stan AutoDM from the menu.
⚠️ If you don’t see this option, you’re not in the BETA group yet—hang tight, its rolling out soon!
- Next, click Connect Instagram and enter in your login credentials and grant permissions.
Time to setup your automation by clicking Let's Go!
Decide your unique Keyword that will trigger the auto-reply, then choose what your customer will receive when they send that keyword.
- Choose which posts you'd like to enable the AutoDM for by selecting On All Posts and choosing the intended posts
- Add any reply comments you'd like to automate in response to the comments your audience leaves by turning on Comment back. Then, you can edit the comments!
🚨 Please Note!
You can choose to include replies to comments, or you can choose to turn them off. If you do choose to turn them on, you may be at a higher risk of being flagged as a bot by Meta! You can help to mitigate this risk by including different reply options.
Save Draft to come back later, or click Publish to immediately enable the auto-reply.
⚠️ Heads up that clicking Publish means that anyone who DM's or Comments on an IG post using this keyword, will receive your automated message.
- Once published, you should see this screen below. We recommend testing out your automation for yourself!
Reviewing Stan AutoDM Analytics
Stan AutoDM analytics help you measure impact:
- Sent: Total automations triggered
- Opened: How many DMs were seen and opened
- Store Visits: Tracks visits to Stan Store URLs (external links aren’t tracked yet).
⚠️ URLs that do not link to Stan will show 0 visits.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Stan AutoDM feature differ from ManyChat?
Stan’s solution focuses on Instagram-specific automation, integrating seamlessly with your store. Unlike ManyChat, it simplifies setup by focusing on the core use case of keyword-triggered replies.
If I disconnect my Stan AutoDM, will I lose all of my AutoDMs?
Nope! If you disconnect your IG from Stan, your AutoDMs will become inactive, but they will be saved if you ever want to reconnect.
Can I create quizzes or multi-step flows?
Not yet, but we’re gathering feedback—let us know if this is critical for your business!
Can I create a "flow", "series of questions" or a "quiz" with Stan AutoDM feature?
As of now, no. However we are excited to gather insight from you about this! If you're interested, please let us know!
If I am currently using ManyChat, will I need to disconnect or turn off my automations on ManyChat in order to use Stan's Stan AutoDM feature?
Although we don't recommend connecting both at the same time, it is not currently required. As long as you are using different keywords for each feature then there should not be any overlap.
For example, if you are using the keyword DOG on ManyChat, but then using the word CAT on Stan, there will be no overlap. But, if you choose to use the same keyword DOG for both platforms, this will cause double-triggering (1 trigger per platform).
What analytics will I be able to see with this new feature?
Great question! As of now, you will be able to see the number of automations Sent, Opened, and Store Visits (if you are linking to a Stan Store URL).
If I am not linking to a Stan Store URL, what happens to my analytics?
As of now, if you link to a URL that is not included in your Stan Store, we're unable to track the clicks which will then result in 0 Store Visits being tracked. You can easily track the number of automations Sent and Opened though, then compare the number of "visits" from the external URL you are linking to!
