How to Create a Recurring Membership Product
What is a Recurring Membership Product?
A recurring membership product allows you to charge your customers on a recurring basis — daily, weekly, monthly, or annually — in exchange for ongoing value. This could include access to exclusive content, private communities, live sessions, digital resources, or coaching programs. Recurring memberships are a powerful way to build predictable revenue while delivering continuous value to your audience! 🙌
Steps to Create a Recurring Membership Product
- Head over to your My Store tab, then select the + Add Product button at the bottom of the page.
- Next, select the Recurring Membership product.
- On the Thumbnail tab, you can choose how you'd like the product to display on your storefront by adding an image and selecting a style.
- Navigate over to the Checkout Page tab to select an image for the header, and write up a title and description for your checkout page. This is what your customers will see when they click into the product to complete their purchase!
- Next, you can set your price!
Pricing Key:
- Price ($) *= the amount that you would like your customers to be charged each billing cycle.
- Discounted Price ($) = when toggled on, this will discount the amount you are charging.
- Recurring * = the cadence of which your customers will be charged (daily, weekly, monthly, or annually).
- Cancel subscription after = when toggled off, the subscription will continue indefinitely until cancelled manually; toggling it on lets you set an end date.
💡 For example:
If you'd like to charge your customers on a monthly basis, for a total of 6 months, then you would set the Recurring * to Monthly and the Cancel subscription after to 6 months. See here:
- Navigate to the Options tab if you'd like to:
- Add Reviews
- Add Email Flows, Order Bumps, Affiliate Share (✨ Creator Pro plan only)
- Integrate your Community
- Customize your Confirmation Email
- Once you're done, click Publish at the bottom of the page and you're all set! 🎉

Where to Locate Your Members
- Head to the Customers tab on the left hand side.
- In the filters, click on Active Subscription and choose which of your subscriptions you want to see. This will show a list of all of your active members.
🚨 Heads up!
- We don't currently support the ability to set a specific billing date (i.e. if you want your customers to be charged the 1st of every month). The billing date is set automatically based on the date of their initial purchase.
- If you cancel your Stan account, you'll need to manually cancel your customers' membership subscriptions or they'll continue to get charged.
- Additionally, deleting your Membership Product will not auto-cancel your customers' memberships. You will need to manually cancel each membership or they'll continue to get charged.
- This is not a Payment Plan feature, as your customer will have the option to cancel their membership at any time. If you want to learn more about our Payment Plans feature, you can check out this article.
