How to get started with Email Flows

Getting started with Email Flows

In this video, we'll show you how to get started with Email Flows, including how to import your existing email list, the differences between Email Flows and Broadcasts, and more.


How to create an Email Flow

  1. Click on the Email Flows tab and select Get Started.
  2. We won't prompt you to upload your email list right away, but you can easily add existing subscribers to Stan at any time by navigating to your Customers tab. Learn how here!
  3. You'll be prompted to enter your business address before you can send any emails. This is required by law in order to send marketing emails, which you can read more about here.
  4. Click on Add Flow, give your Email Flow a name, and decide who you'd like to receive the emails.


Adding additional emails to your flow

  1. First, be sure to click Save Draft on your current email.
  2. Next, add more emails to your flow by clicking on the +Add Email button.

  1. Start editing your next email and repeat the process until you've completed all the emails you'd like to include in your flow.
  2. Once you've created and saved all your emails, click Publish on each individual email to fully activate the flow.

Editing your Email Flow

When editing your Email Flow, you'll have the option to customize the timing, subject line, email body, or quantity of emails you'd like to send. To edit your flow, please follow these steps:

  1. Decide when you'd like new customers to receive your email. Choose between minutes, hours, or days after purchasing your digital product.
  2. Next, give your email a subject line or use our existing template.
  3. Write your email body or use the existing template.

πŸ“£ Heads up!

You can add images and GIFs to your email, but can only share videos as links to optimize your email's deliverability. We also don't currently support including PDFs or external files. As a workaround, you can create a Private Landing Page with a Digital Download product.


How to create an Email Broadcast

  1. Click on the Broadcast tab to get started.
  2. Next, click on the Send Email button in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. From there, you'll be prompted to choose who you'd like to send your broadcast to. You can select multiple groups or lists.
  4. Next, choose whether you would like to exclude any groups.
  5. Edit your email the same way that you would an Email Flow.
  6. Next, click Send to send it now, or schedule it to send later!
